Opposition deputy to the National Assembly (AN) María Corina Machado
said President Nicolás Maduro has encouraged "looting from Miraflores
(presidential palace). You have surrendered Venezuela; you have
surrendered our outraged sovereignty to Cuba. You have given away
everything, from oil to our land, from Apure state to the Essequibo."

Her remarks came at the National Assembly during a debate on the
approval of the special ruling powers requested by President Maduro to
fight against corruption and the so-called "economic war."

Machado also stressed that with the passage of the special ruling
powers, the government "is sealing the end of this regime. They are
sealing the end of this nightmare. You, Mr. Maduro, have 15 years in
power. You have controlled all the money, all institutions, all weapons,
all the dollars, all the power... What have you done with all that
power? You have ruined the entire country."
